Article Description: A Team in SwipeRed can be used for organizing based on a region, a special interest cause, or any demographic the Organization chooses. Organizations using SwipeRed choose whether their Teams should be public or private. In this article, we will explain the difference between having public or private teams and what you may want to consider when making a decision. Your Organization can have both public and private Teams.
Public Teams
Public teams are visible to all SwipeRed users who have joined the Organization and can be joined by any SwipeRed user. Volunteers who download SwipeRed choose the organization they want to join, and within that organization, they can select a public team.
Additionally, actions published in a public Team are visible to everyone on the platform who has chosen the Organization, and anyone who joins your public Team can start taking action right away.
Private Teams
Private Teams allow you to invite a specific set of volunteers to join your Team on SwipeRed. Additionally, actions within a private Team are only visible to the volunteers who have joined your Organization. Only your volunteers can view and interact with your Organization’s actions. Other users on SwipeRed cannot see these actions.
Setting up Teams
To set up a Team Go to Advocates>Teams>New Team button.
Once you click on the New Team button, you will see this screen:
If you are creating a private group, toggle the private switch to yellow and click create. You can then go back into the team and click the add button.
You can key one email in or cut and paste several at one time and click the add button.
Now only the members of the team will see it in the app and receive messages you create for that team. They will also receive open messages.
