Creating a text message:

Go to the “Outreach” on the menu

  1. Select “New Message”

  2. Select “Text Messaging”

  3. Schedule your message in the “Send At:” field

  4. Give the message a subject – (this is for you only, it is not visible to recipients of your message)

  5. Select your target audience in the “Contacts Audience” field (You created this audience under the “Contacts” category) (you can see the number of contacts in your audience and how many of them will be reached)

  6. “Expires At” lets you set the date your message will no longer appear in the main message list. After that date, the message can still be viewed by switching “Show Expired” on.

  7. “Message Attachment” let’s you attach a link to a “Landing Page” (created under “Pages”), “Form” (created under “Forms”), “External Web Link” or a “Photo only” (stored under “Media”)

  8. Type your “Message”. You can add the same variables you use in Email messaging (like %recipient.first_name%, etc.) to personalize your message

  9. A segment is 160 characters long. One segment consumes 1 credit.

  10. A photo (MMS) consumes 3 segments

  11. Above the message window, the system tells you how many credits this message will consume.

  12. Below the message window the message “Text STOP to cancel” shows. This becomes a part of each message texted. Having this message has shown to reduces the number of complaints and improves your carrier sender score. We recommend not to change it.

  13. A message can be started in any of the section, SwipeRed, Email or Txt and it will transfer to any of the other sections if you switch to another section.
