Creating an affinity text is very much like all other forms of outreach through SwipeRed.
To begin, you go to the outreach section of the SwipeRed system.
Once you are into the Outreach section of the hub you just select "new message" just like with any other type of outreach.
Once you have navigated to the screen where you curate your message fill out all of these fields as you would with any message. Give it a subject line, set start and end dates, give it a target audience. But if you're setting up a Peer-to-Peer affinity text you also click the switch to turn that function on.
That will create a second message box that you will put in your Peer-to-Peer message. It will automatically copy the top box into the lower one if there is a message in it. But you will want to make sure you edit the message to be different for the PtP message as you would address a stranger differently than you would address a friend that you are texting.
Once you put this message out, and an advocate clicks on it they will be shown their normal Smart Matches, but below that they will be shown a set of 3 "message identified peers." These are people pulled from your target audiences for your advocates to text, but they don't come from your advocates contacts, they do not know these people. It's like phone banking, but instead of a call, it's a text.
Variables can be inserted into the Peer to Peer message:
%recipient.first_name%
%recipient.last_name%
%recipient.email%
%recipient.id%
%recipient.source_id%
%advocate.first_name%
%advocate.last_name%
%advocate.email%
%advocate.phone%
%group.name%
%group.group_code%
Once the advocate clicks on one of the people to send a message to and returns to this screen to send more messages, the list of three peers to send to will be completely shuffled, this is to avoid messages being sent to the same person more than once.
If you would like to personalize the message you can add their first name by adding {FIRST_NAME} to the message and if you want to reference the advocate by their first name, add {ADVOCATE_FIRST_NAME}.
